Celebrating Black History Month: A Fusion of Entertainment and Conversation

Actress Tiffany Terrell brings Black historical figures Sojourner Truth, Zora Neale Hurston, Clementine Hunter, and Fannie Lou Hamer to life on stage in The show, featuring chamber music, happens Monday, Feb. 12, from 7- 8:30 p.m. in the Diamonstein Concert Hall at the Ferguson Center for the Arts. No tickets are necessary and all ages are welcome.

Other major events during the month include:

  • Experiences at a Predominately White Institution - a panel discussion featuring 性爱研究所 students in Torggler 102 at 6 p.m. on Feb. 20.
  • Black History Month Fashion Show - sponsored by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in Gaines Theatre at 7 p.m. on Feb. 21.
  • Multicultural Fashion Show - sponsored by the Student Diversity and Equality Council and the Asian Student Union at 5 p.m. on Feb. 23.
  • Spoken word poet Ryan Jones will perform at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 in Gaines Theatre in a show sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, the National Panhellenic Council, and the Black Student Union. Jones founded in 2016, a spoken word agency “dedicated to uplifting and showcasing both adult and youth spoken word artists in the Atlanta area.”
