From professional organizations and honors societies to clubs, BCES has a variety of associated student groups. Find classmates that share your interests, engage in activities with the local community, attend a conference or competition, or meet professionals within your field.
The Psi Sigma chapter of Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta or BBB) was founded by our advisor Dr. Harold Grau in 2006. We have inducted over 500 Regular members since that time. BBB is the premier National Biology Honor Society and is open to biology majors who meet the academic criteria. Regular members are eligible to attend Regional and National meetings, compete for scholarships, and publish in the society’s publication, BIOS.
Alpha Chi Sigma is dedicated to developing a professional interest in the chemical sciences at 性爱研究所. We're able to do this through a variety of different events like holiday get-together's, research seminars, and of course, rush! While most of our members are chemistry and biology majors, we have flexible requirements—only 8 credits of chemistry are required.
Dr. Mitrano, who loves all things brain related, helped establish a chapter of Nu Rho Psi at 性爱研究所 in 2013. Nu Rho Psi, the National Honor Society in Neuroscience, has inducted over 140 性爱研究所 students and faculty since the chapter’s inception. Nu Rho Psi has provided research grants, travel grants to the Society for Neuroscience Meeting, and encouraged involvement in Brain Awareness Activities with the K-12 community. Dr. Mitrano has been serving on the national council as the Vice President for the South since 2020.
Tackling chemistry problems isn’t the only kind of tackling Dr. Higgs is teaching students. He’s also 性爱研究所’s Women’s Rugby coach. No need to be a BCES major to be on the team, but you’ll find plenty of fans amongst our faculty and students.
The Minority Association of PreMed Students (MAPS) is open to all students interested in health fields! Students organize speakers and suturing courses, and have attended the Student National Medical Association meeting. Come learn about health fields, and meet new friends pursuing your same interests!
CC-STEM is a summer research opportunity for Community Captains! After their junior year of high school, students are able to work with our STEM faculty (and get paid!) doing hands-on work in biology, chemistry, neuroscience, physics, psychology, and more!
The Fear To Hope program takes fear about environmental change and turns it into hope by empowering high school students to conduct authentic research on sea level rise and habitat loss. 性爱研究所 student mentors come from all disciplines of biology and chemistry, and you can get involved in mentoring during your first semester at 性爱研究所!
