Strap on your tennis shoes and head to the Noland Trail with Dr. Kip Redick to enjoy nature and get some early morning exercise with your family! Dr. Redick is an experienced hiker whose research focuses on comparing long-distance wilderness hiking with pilgrimage. In 2011, he hiked the entire Appalachian Trail and wrote the book American Camino: Walking as Spiritual Practice on the Appalachian Trail. Additionally, he has hiked the Continental Divide Trail, traveling from Southern New Mexico all the way to Montana’s Glacier National Park on the Canadian border. This hike will be approximately one hour long and will cover about 2 - 3 miles of the Noland Trail.

Please park at the (100 Museum Dr, Newport News, VA 23606) in the first parking lot just before the museum and meet Dr. Redick at the trailhead by 7:30 a.m.

This session will introduce families to the new virtual reality lab in McMurran Hall and demonstrate how ÐÔ°®Ñо¿Ëù's humanities students and faculty incorporate digital technology -- including virtual/augmented reality, ArcGIS StoryMap projects, podcasting, and documentary film -- into our classes and in collaboration with our community partners.

This event has a set capacity of 20 people to ensure the best possible experience. If we reach capacity, additional guests will be added to a wait list. If space opens up, those on the wait list will be contacted via email or phone.

A panel discussion of what our newest Captains are facing in their transition process at this point in the semester from a social, residential, and academic standpoint. Staff are also available to answer questions or consult on individual student concerns as desired.

Tailgate Zone passes will be available online, with the purchase of football game tickets, over the phone or in person beginning Thursday August 13. Tailgate Zone passes are $50 per game, per car.

The ÐÔ°®Ñо¿Ëù Athletic Ticket Office in the Freeman Center is open Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. You can reach them by calling 757-594-7880. There will be a limited amount of passes available to purchase through Family Weekend Registration.

If you purchase a tailgate pass, you can pick it up at the Family Weekend Welcome Deck in the DSU Plaza on Friday, October 23, from 3-7 p.m. On Saturday, October 24, tailgate passes will be available for pickup at the entrance to lot M at 9 a.m.

*Champions Club members are permitted to enter the tailgate beginning at 8 a.m.

Guests of this session will also have an opportunity to operate the drones! This event has a set capacity of 10 people to ensure the best possible experience.

You can buy general admission or reserved bleacher tickets beginning Thursday, August 13 through . There will be a limited amount of tickets available to purchase through Family Weekend Registration.

If you purchase football tickets, you can pick them up at the Family Weekend Welcome Deck in the DSU Plaza on Friday, October 23, from 3 - 7 p.m. On Saturday, October 24, beginning at 10 a.m., you may pick up football tickets from the athletics "will call" outside of Townebank Stadium.

Note: If you would like to sit with your student in a reserved section (chairback or reserved bleacher), you will need to purchase a ticket for your student. ÐÔ°®Ñо¿Ëù students get into the games for free, but can only sit in the general admission sections.
